The Pegasus Transport is the backbone of Nova Roman military operations. Designed to insert ground troops from space, the Pegasus specializes in troop capacity and speed, not armament or defenses. The transport gets its name from two things: the elevated cockpit set above and forward from the main portion of the ship, giving it the appearance of a horse’s head, and the large wings, which pivot to adjust thrust direction and allow for VTOL maneuvers.
It requires only two crew to operate (a pilot and a co-pilot), although in a pinch one person can fly the ship successfully. It can carry 40 passengers, or half of a Nova Roman century. There are also a set of straps on the ladder up to the loft for the commanding officer to brace themselves with, so that they can give commands from a position of authority during the landing operation itself.
